Motion detectors – Precise and efficient
Motion detectors can be found in many locations, in various applications and in different processes, which is why we would like to dedicate today’s blog post to this topic.
This year, we have already celebrated our 40th anniversary as a company, which means that we have been constantly evolving since 1984. For this reason, we not only cover an extensive range of products in the areas of temperature, humidity and pressure, but also an immense variety of products in the areas of brightness and motion.
Motion detectors are particularly important, which is why we would like to introduce you to a few of our products. B+B generally offers high-quality PIR (passive infrared) and radar motion detector modules as well as sensors for motion detection, which can be used effectively both indoors and outdoors. Due to the respective range as well as the additional adjustable sensitivity, our motion detectors are suitable for automatic lighting control, presence detection, alarm and security technology, ventilation control or OEM applications.
Of course, it is also possible to order our detectors not only as standard products, but also to have customized items produced at any time.
Passive infrared motion detector
Passive infrared motion detectors (also known as PIR motion detectors) use a passive detection method and react reliably to the thermal radiation emitted by the moving body to be measured. Whether human or animal – as soon as a movement is detected across the sensor, a desired action or follow-up reaction can be initiated.
Radar motion detector
Radar motion detectors emit electromagnetic waves in the high-frequency range and, unlike the PIR motion detector, do not require a measurable temperature difference between the surroundings and the object to be measured. This means that even “cold” moving objects can be detected. Radar motion detectors have all-weather functions and have a greater range than PIR motion detectors. Another advantage is the direction of the measured object, so that frontal movements can also be detected by the sensor.
